Here are pictures of the first two levels of the first area for my next firing. The primary fire passages are visible in the first pictures. It is important to think about how the flames will flow around the pieces. To keep the pieces from sticking together I first put clam shells into the bottom piece, put in a hand full or rice hulls, then a round disk of fire clay. I then set the second piece on the clay and repeated for the third piece.
