Nanban kiln, 9-10-10

I was really surprised when I first learned how little chance played a part in getting great results. I imagined, looking at work by potters I was interested in in Japan, that everything was yanked from raw clay, thrown into a kiln and came out looking like it did. To see how much work went into every “chance” detail surprised me.
